Program Schedule
June 15, 2023 - July 28th, 2023 (8-week internship)
30 hours per week at $14/hour
6-hour work days, 8 am - 2 pm (Monday - Friday)
Accepting ages 18-24
Interns will be exposed to a diverse array of hana relating to mālama ʻāina, including but not limited to clearing land, invasive species management, kuapā restoration, planting/harvesting/processing kalo, loko iʻa management, fishpond resource distribution and so much more. Interns will have the opportunity to learn cultural protocol, moʻolelo, and inoa ʻāina associated with Heʻeia and their own spaces. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in rain or shine and must come ready to push themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Candidates must work efficiently and effectively in teams and are expected to support each other, and will undoubtedly have the chance to create meaningful connections.
