Kahea Mai ka Aina Program
Hana Laulima Lahui O Ka'u
Kahea Mai Ka ‘Āina is an intercession culture-based ‘ohana camp, serving Kaʻū families for over 10 years. The camp serves learners from kindergarten through grade 12 and their families.
The camps range from one week to three days. Most of the families are from Ka’u. However, we also work with learners in foster care residing outside of Kaʻū.
Normally we have 25 participants with their families.
The goal of this program is that students will know more about Kaʻū, their Native Hawaiian culture and how to become self-sufficient. Students are given plants to begin their own gardens for their families. A key module in the training camp is learning to prepare an imu to provide food for their own families.

Hawaiʻi Tutoring+
Hawaiʻi Tutoring+
HawaiiKidsCAN and Air Tutors team up for a truly unique educational experience designed to bring students to grade level and beyond. The collaboration ensures that students in Hawaiʻi are matched to an expert educator that will focus on advancing their skill sets and growing them as individuals.
We want all kids to have the opportunity – no matter where they live – to recover from learning loss caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and get ahead to achieve their potential.
Hawaii Tutoring has rebranded as Hawaiʻi Tutoring+, as we now are planning to offer digital literacy support for members of the whole family, including parents and kūpuna.
Thanks to the generosity of Hawaiian Telcom, Kamehameha Schools, and the Nakupuna Foundation, we are able to offer full scholarships to all participants. This means families will not be charged anything to be part of the program. Each session has a value of $90, so we ask that students commit to attending sessions. Families can create a schedule that is convenient for them.
Please note, that this program is only open to families who reside in Hawaiʻi.
