Hi my name is Deja Magno and I am the mother of Lexton & Lennox Magno. I would like to share my experience with Mauka to Makai. I seen it on social media and had no clue what it was, I asked a friend about it and what they did and felt like that would be something great for my two boys to experience and learn. As I signed up my two sons, I also started bringing three of their friends and they five loved it....Everyday I picked them up they were so eager to share what they learned or did that day. Living on the Westside and the Beach being our only option, or cheapest activity to do as a Family attending The Junior Lifeguard is something everyone should attend. My younger son was not confident and was a little scared the first day because he didn't trust his Swimming skills, but by the end of the week he was so proud to say he passed the Swimming Test, Was able to save someone drowning in the ocean, was able to go on the boat and enjoy the ocean in more ways of just Swimming and being afraid to go farther into the ocean...As my son came home by the 2nd day and showed us how to tie the rope and save a life, we were so proud of him and told him to never forget that lifetime experience he learned because he may need to do it one day....The kids enjoyed being together, running daily, swimming, staying active and learning life lessons things that are never even thought in school. Please continue to keep this program going to help the Westside Kids, Stay out of trouble and to stay busy, active and Learn Lifeguard duties.
